Treescar Paintings

My current series “Treescar” derives from a close visual exploration of trees. Trees have long lives and show their scars. That trees continue to endure and grow despite their scars reminds us that resilience and growth are necessary for life. My brushes and pallet knives seem to feel into and around tree trunks, crevasses, knotholes, humps, stumps and boules, as if trying to uncover the mystery of how trees survive.
